Sports Character Direction -

Education is not just learning to read, learning the Pythagorean Theorem or how a cell is replicated.  Education is much more than just knowledge.  We at FCS strive to create a well-rounded student and member of the community.  This involves Biblical integration in all of our classes, weekly chapels, community service projects, monthly character traits, and Bible classes.  This also happens in our athletic program

In the past, this was left to our coaches to implement a character/leadership/Biblical atmosphere.  This year, our Athletic Director Mark Todd has created and will implement a program that will cover all the athletic teams.  Over the coming months we will roll out our Creed, and we will be using John Wooden's Pyramid of Success to instill in our student-athletes and non-athletes as well, the character traits that are vital to success in life.  Many of these traits will also be used with middle and high school students in the classroom.  Some of these traits are initiative, self-control, confidence, and many others. If you are interested in learning more about John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success, go to http://www.coachwooden.com/.

Please be watching for emails from us throughout the summer concerning practices, and you will be receiving one on how to provide your student's sports paperwork in PlanetHS. This has been mandated by SCISA, but we would have been going this direction anyway. We encourage ALL students to get a sports physical by August 1 even if they aren't playing sports right now. As we move forward we are going to see more students want to be involved and exercising those God given talents.

Have a safe summer!

In Christ,

David
